Obituary of Gerald Arthur Johnson

Gerald Ged Johnson, 46 of Fox Road, Putnam, died unexpectedly Saturday at home. He was the son of Doris A. (Burton) Johnson of Putnam and the late Louis G. Johnson, Sr., born November 16, 1961 in Putnam. He was a graduate of Putnam High School, Class of 1980. Ged was a self employed Plumber, an active member of the Putnam Lodge of Elks and worked on many lodge events and functions. He was an avid vegetable and flower gardener. Ged enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor, and was a loving son and caregiver to his mother and was loved by all. In addition to his mother Doris, he leaves three brothers: Louis Johnson, Jr. of South Dennis, MA; Richard Johnson of Florence, MA; Robert Johnson of Putnam, two sisters: Carol Langer of Alva, FL, and Thompson, Patricia Ferrarese of Southbury, several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling hours Wednesday form 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam. Donations may be made in his memory to the Spina Bifida Association of Connecticut, Inc., PO Box 2545, Hartford, CT 06146-2545.
