Obituary of William F. Jackson, Jr.

William F. Jackson, Jr., 87, of Putnam, CT, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died December 14, 2007 in Putnam, husband of Ruth M. Jackson. He was born May 23, 1920 in Richmond, VA, son of the late William and Winifred Jackson. He served over 30 years in the US Navy, a veteran of WWII, Korean War and the Vietnam War. He has made his home in Putnam for the last nine months, and over 30 years in Charlotte, NC. He retired from Eastern Airlines and also worked Security for Sears & Roebuck. He enjoyed NASCAR and his computer games. He was predeceased by his 1st wife of 52 years, Miriam Jackson. He leaves his wife Ruth, daughter Bonita Harris and her husband Richard of Charlotte; a sister; Nan Poppell of Tallahassee, FL; his grandchildren; Lauren Harris and her fiance Christopher Persinger of Charlotte; Amanda Crowe and her husband Thomas of Easley, SC, and one great grandchild due in February of 2008, also six step children.
