As I read these thouhts & memories left by people outside of the family, I see how he touched other peolple's lives. His immediate family knew a different younger man. as his daughter, I grew up learning by watching him. Dad had a strong work & life ethic. I learned to be strong & loyal to both those who employe you & those that love you. I learned family not things are what is important. You miss your loved ones when they are gone. You can replace things but not family. Dad was loved & will be missed by the Jackson family that knew him all off his life & the Rainwater family that knew & loved him for the last 60 years. It is a compfort to know that the last 5 years he also touched another family that welcomed into their lives as well.

Ruth & Family,
I'm so sorry to learn of Bill's passing. He was a fine man and a dear friend. All the years I knew and worked with him at Eastern Airlines he could always be relied upon to inject a bit of fun and a few chuckles as we all worked. Such an imp he was, and so endearing. The world is a sadder place at his passing. So glad you brought him to the picnic in September. It was good to meet you.
May God Bless You,
Audrey Redl, Charlotte,NC

I had a wonderful time with you and Ruth in Charlotte, NC, in April 2005. I thank you for all the wonderful sites we saw and conversations we had while I was there. You made my friend Ruth very happy and I thank you also for that.
