Obituary of Charles H. Cournoyer

Charles H. Cournoyer December 5, 1979 - March 30, 2009 Charles Henry "007" Cournoyer, 29, of Ware, MA, formerly of Thompson, CT, passed away from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident caused by exhaustion. Charlie was predeceased by his best friend Eric LePage 8 months earlier. He is survived by his dad and mom, Jim and Judy Cournoyer of Thompson, his sister and her husband, Katie and Dan Neeland and his yet to be born niece, Abigail Pauline Neeland of Worcester, MA, grandmothers Madeleine Berube of Thompson, Pauline Annaloro of Zephyrhills, FL, Aunts, Dianne Annaloro, of Zephyrhills, Susan Lee of Lafayette, LA, Carol Cournoyer of Thompson, Uncles, David Cournoyer and his wife Gloria of Colchester, CT, Donald Cournoyer and his wife, Theresa of Newport News, VA and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. Charlie graduated from TMHS in 1998 and attended UCONN at Avery Point, Groton, CT. He had been involved in karate in which he had won numerous awards, and participated in Cross Country for TMHS, winning the Class S Championship in 1996. He also earned a certificate from the WCCA TV 13 in Television and Media Production, and had been involved in the production of a weekly television church service series in Worcester, MA. He was a former member of various fishing clubs including Rebos, and the Massachusetts Striped Bass Association, winning first place in the Tri-State Fishing Tournament in 1997 among other awards. He was a self-employed painting contractor. Charlie was best known for his kind heart, generosity, gentle nature, genuine smile, and love of fun. He loved God, his family and friends, working out at the gym with his friends, the NY Yankees, fishing, Cape Cod, family camping trips, and especially snowboarding. He was a member of New Arising Christian Church in Millbury, MA. His family invites all of his family and friends to join them in a celebration of Charlie's life, Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the North Woodstock Congregational Church, 1227 Route 169, (and 197) Woodstock, CT. Donations may be made in his memory to the Quinebaug Fire Department, PO Box 144, Quinebaug, CT 06262, the Community Fire Department, 862 Riverside Drive, N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255 or the Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group (TEEG) of North Grosvenordale, 65 Main Street, N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255.
