Obituary of Jason Delaney

Jason "Jay" Delaney, 29, of School Street, Putnam, died Wednesday, December 31 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford surrounded by his loving family. He was born, March 18, 1979 in Fort Hood, TX, son of Dennis G. Delaney and Donna Daly Martel. He made his home in Putnam most of his life, 1997 Graduate of Putnam High School, he played Putnam Youth Soccer and WPTP Football. He was a sous-chef for the last twelve years, the last three years at 85 Main Street Restaurant in Putnam. He enjoyed sports and music, was an avid Patriot's and Red Sox Fan. In addition to his parents, Dennis G. Delaney and his companion Patricia Adams of Boston, MA and Mother Donna Daly Martel and her husband Joseph of Woodstock, his loving girl friend Amy Gremo and her son Cole of Putnam, his brother, Scott Delaney and his wife Beth of Carver, MA, maternal grandmother Jean Donoghue and her husband Edward of Hyde Park, MA, nephew Thursten, niece Scarlett, several aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 am from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Quassett Cemetery in Woodstock in the Spring.
