Obituary of Dr. Moses Margolick

Sarasota / Putnam -- Dr. Moses Margolick, 98, on November 20 in Sarasota, Fla. Husband for nearly 60 years of Gertrude, father of Dr. Joseph (Dr. Linda P. Fried), David and Daniel, grandfather of Jonathan and Alexander. For 47 years Dr. Margolick practiced medicine and surgery in Putnam, Ct., where he also served as chief of staff at the Day Kimball Hospital, and was much beloved by generations of patients. He was born and raised in Montreal, and graduated from McGill University and Medical School. He came to New York in 1935 and trained at the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital. During World War II he served in a surgical unit of the Army Medical Corps in England, France, and Germany. He was active in civic affairs, serving for many years on the Putnam Board of Education. He will be remembered as a man of great integrity, scholarship, dedication, compassion, curiosity and wit. Funeral Service will be Tuesday November 25, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial will be private in Putnam Heights Cemetery.
