Obituary of Arthur D. Cloutier

Arthur D. Cloutier, 80, of Upper Maple Street, Dayville, died unexpectedly Friday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was born in Putnam February 6, 1929 son of the late Arthur P. and Esther Sirrine Cloutier. Arthur worked for over fifty years as an Operating Engineer, an active member of Operating Engineers Union Local 478, he worked on Routes 52, 384 and 84, The Millstone Plant, RB Greene Transportation and his last employment was the Killingly Intermediate School. He retired in 1992 He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army . Arthur drove for the Killingly Brooklyn Ambulance for many years. He was a member of the Danielson Lodge of Elks BPOE 1703 and the Danielson American Legion. His hobbies included NASCAR, caring for his dogs Millie and Fred, gardening. He leaves a son: Mark Cloutier of Dayville, step-son: Tyson Hewes and his wife Cindy of Pomfret Center; a daughter: Deborah Cloutier of NH; grandchildren Sadie Hewes and Dean Mayo. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling Hours Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors in South Cemetery, Pomfret.
