Obituary of John R. Tourtellotte
John R. Tourtellotte, 66, died September 6, 2008. in Homes Regional Medical Center. He was born in Putnam, CT and came to Melbourne Beach (Floridana Beach) in 1997. He is survived by his wife Carole, his daughter Sandra and son in law Michael Murdock, one grand-daughter Brettany and grandson Jacob, mother in law Florence Johnson; Sister Jayne and his canine companions Rufus, Lily and Baby; many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son Brett David, his mother Elna Law ; father Arthur Raymond Tourtellotte. He was the president of the Floridana Beach Civic Association, where being Santa was his annual mission. He graduated from UCONN. Served in the National Guard for eight years. He retired from the State of CT as a personnel director. John had a shared ownership of Horizon Travel. A Memorial Service will be Saturday September 20th at 10:30 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. A paddle out will be held at the Floridana Beach, on September 27th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to The Floridana Beach Civic Association, PO Box 510214, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951.
