Karen L. Peabody 51 of Sabin Street, Putnam, died Tuesday August 6, 2008 at home surrounded by family and close friends. Daughter of Paul (Alvin) Jarvis and the late Dorothy (Ducharme) Jarvis. She was born October 30, 1956 in Putnam. She had made her home in Putnam all her life, a 1975 graduate of Putnam High School and a communicant of ST Mary Church. She will be remembered for her, knitting, crocheting, her admiration of Jackie Kennedy Onassis and especially for her great sense of humor. Karen worked for over 25 years as a CNA, and cared deeply for the welfare of the elderly in her care. She had a great love for her daughter, son and loved and adored her grandson and spending time with family and friends. She leaves her father Paul, step-mother and best friend Nancy Jarvis of Putnam; a daughter: Jennifer Livingston of Putnam; a son: William Peabody, Jr. of Eastford; a grandson: Payton Livingston of Putnam; her companion of 19 years: Rodney Dumas of Putnam; a brother: Randy Jarvis of Florida; her former husband: William Peabody, Sr. of Putnam. She was predeceased by her siblings: Gwen; Gary; Wendy and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday August 9th at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling Hours will be Friday August 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of NECT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
