Obituary of Reba Newton Greene

Reba Newton Greene, 97, of Riverside Drive, North Grosvenordale, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at home. She was the wife of the late Frank Urban Greene, he died in 1972. Born August 28, 1910, in Auburn, MA, daughter of the late Leonard M. and Alice Reba (Chandler) Sarty. She made her home in Thompson most of her life, a member of the Thompson Congregational Church. For the last 28 years she has made her home at the Gladys Greene Senior Housing, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing cards, walking and swimming. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves her children: Clifford I. Greene of Thompson; Alice R. Smith of Waterford; Frank Greene and his wife Stella of Tucson, AZ; Nancy Bugbee and her husband Henry of Thompson; her grandchildren: Benjamin; Reba; Ronald; Peter; Angela; Wendy; Jeffrey; Heidi; Carlton; and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Hattie; a son-in-law Albert and her siblings Earl Sarty, Wallace Sarty and Mildred Lamothe. A graveside service will be Thursday May 22nd at 2:00 PM in the Munyan Cemetery, Putnam.
