Obituary of Beatrice I. Walters

Beatrice I. Walters, 88, of Maples Courts, Danielson, died Friday at the Haven Health Care in Griswold. Wife of the late Francis "Pete" Walters, Sr., they were married in 1943, he died in 2006. Born July 9, 1919 in Putnam, daughter of the late George and Vivian (Whittemore) Murray. She was a 1938 graduate of Putnam High School. She worked as a waitress for the former Eddies Grill in Dayville for many years. She also worked for the Townsend Estate in New Haven with her husband for several years. She made her home in Danielson most of her life, a member of ST Phillips Episcopal Church in Putnam, and a member of the Williamsville Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player. She leaves a brother: George "Jim" Murray and his wife Barbara of Brooklyn; sister-in-law: Gertrude Panasuk of Plainfield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons: Francis Walters, Jr. in 1970; G. Joseph Walters in 1994; three sisters: Pearl Trahan; Joan Duncan; Vivian Potts. The family would like to thank the staff and workers of DKH, Home Health Care and DKH, HomeCare for their exceptional care and compassion. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, there will be a calling hour from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Monday.
