Obituary of Doris L. Dion

Doris L. Dion, of Pomfret Center, passed away peacefully April 30th, at Westview Rehabilitation Center in Dayville. She was born in Killingly, January 11, 1924 daughter of Theodore and Emma (Giguere) Perreault. She was a graduate of Killingly High School. She was married for sixty years to Alfred C. Dion, Sr. who passed in 2001. Doris was a long time resident of Putnam before retiring to Florida, for fifteen happy years. For the last ten years she has resided at Seeley Brown Village, where she made many good friends. Doris had a great zest for life. Her many interests ranged from sports to art and music. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family and friends. She leaves behind her loving family: a son Alfred C Dion, Jr. his wife Linda of Noank; a daughter Jane D. Durga, her husband Craig of Woodstock; four grandchildren, David and Daniel Dion and Michael and Kyle Durga; six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Lindsay and Andrew Dion, Nicholas and Drew Prunier. She was predeceased by son, James H. Dion and a brother Edward Perreault. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday May 3rd at 10:30 AM at St Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, followed by Burial in ST Mary cemetery. Calling Hours will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam.
