Obituary of Madeleine L. Brodeur
Madeleine (Chartier) Brodeur, 91, of Putnam, died peacefully, Monday, April 14, 2008 at home. The beloved wife of 61 years of Norman Brodeur, They were married in ST James Church in Danielson, he died December 3, 1999. She was born September 25, 1916 in Danielson. Madeleine was the 7th of 13 children, born to Victorien and Adelaide (Bernier) Chartier.
She had worked as a clerk at CL&P and also as a clerk at Sandy`s Dress Shop in Putnam. She was well known as a professional seamstress. She was a Communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation, a member of ST Anne Society, and the Aspinock Historical Society of Putnam. She had made her home in Putnam since 1938, moving from Brooklyn.
She leaves her siblings Bernard Chartier of Dayville; Albert Chartier of East Killingly; Agnes Bernier of Brooklyn; several nieces and nephews including, Carolyn Chartier of Woodstock; Susan Chartier and Allen Chartier both of East Killingly; She was predeceased by her siblings Henry Chartier; Leo Chartier Adrienne Beauchemin; Julienne Chartier; Cecile Chartier; Yolande Chartier; John Chartier, Roma Chartier and Anita St. Germain.
A Memorial Mass will be Friday, April 18, 2008 at 10:30 AM at ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, followed by burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
