Obituary of Charlotte M. Montville
Charlotte M. Montville, 101 of Woodstock, died Thursday at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She married Camille Montville in 1944, he passed away in 1962. She was born December 10, 1906, in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Arthur and Grace (Pierce) Potter.
She work for many years in area textile mills, working at the Stillwater Worsted Mill in East Woodstock, she retired in 1960. She was an active member of the North Woodstock Congregational Church and the East Woodstock Congregational Church. She also was a member of the Senexet Grange #40, of the 7th degree. She was a member of the American Legion Benson-Flugel Post #111 Ladies
Auxiliary, East Woodstock Ladies Benevolent Society, South Woodstock Ladies Aid Society, the Woodstock Senior Citizens and the Woodstock Home Economics Group. She was a former member of the Rebakah #33 of the Independent order of Odd Fellows.
She leaves her son: Ronald Estabrooks and his wife Marlene of Mystic, a brother: Richard Potter and his wife Gwendolyn of Woodstock; a sister-in-law: Marjorie Potter; two grandchildren: Dawn Salerno and her husband Floyd of Providence, RI; Charles Estabrooks and his wife
Jean of Stonington; two great grandchildren: Nichole and Jordan, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM in the East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Road, East Woodstock. Burial in North Woodstock Cemetery. Calling Hours Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
