Obituary of Theodore R. Bernier
Theodore R. Bernier, 71, of Dayville, CT passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on November 12, 2024 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. He was born June 2, 1953, son of Raymond L. and Nancy (DeVillez) Bernier. He was the beloved husband of Robin (Caron) Bernier.
Ted was a former Lewis Tree worker where he had his own crew and bucket truck. He worked at American Standard for many years meeting his life long friends. Ted enlisted into the Military choosing the Navy branch from 1972 and was Honorably discharged in 1976 as an Aviation Machinist Mate Airman. In his younger years he loved to hunt and fish. He was also big in to vegetable gardening. He was an avid reader especially Stephen King books. He loved watching football and car races, the New England Patriots were his team. He also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds especially the winter birds. Ted had a big heart and would do anything for family or friends when he was able.
He leaves his wife Robin Bernier of Dayville, CT; his stepchildren Rachel and Quinton Diaz of Plainfield, CT, Jim and Lisa Cote of Ashford, CT, Nicholas Cote and long time partner Ashley Salvas of Moosup, CT; his six grandchildren that he loved dearly and thought that he would never have. Jeremy, Julie, Travis, MyKela, Emily and James. He also leaves his mother Nancy Bernier and was predeceased by his father Raymond Bernier. He leaves his three siblings Susan Boies of Danielson, CT, Renee and Neal Hart of Brooklyn, CT and Scott Bernier and long tome partner Karen Jones of PA. He also had five sister in laws Pam and Jackie Floyd of MA, Lisa and Gary Hegedus of AZ, Sue and Lianne of Danielson, CT, Shannon Caron of Dayville, CT and Sandra and Mike DeFeuers of Danielson, CT. He also leaves several nieces and nephews including greats. Finally last but not least his beloved dog Ebony who misses her daddy dearly.
