Obituary of David Renaud
David (Rick) C. Renaud, 82, of Woodstock, CT, beloved husband of Gail M. (Soyden) Renaud, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2024. He was born on April 25, 1942, in Putnam. He was predeceased by his father, Charles A. Renaud, his mother, Ruth T. Renaud, his son, Trevor D. Renaud, and nephews Todd Renaud and Michael Regis. He graduated from Harvard H. Ellis Technical School and joined the United States Air Force. He worked most of his life at Rogers Corporation before retiring from his position as Facilities Manager in 2004.
Rick was active in the community and coached Little League and Micro Midget Football in his younger years. In his later years he enjoyed cycling, playing golf, he was a NASCAR enthusiast, and attended every UConn women’s basketball game at Gampel Pavilion with “brother Bob”. Rick was fierce and fiery, a hard worker, a jack of all trades, and always willing to help a friend in need.
Rick is survived by his wife, Gail M. Renaud, his daughter, Tracey R. Dunn and her partner, Mark R. Tetreault, his daughter-in-law, Shelley M. Renaud and her partner, Kevin Johns, his grandchildren, Patrick Dunn, Ethan Dunn, Haylee Renaud, Zachary Renaud, Tyler Fauxbel, and Ashley Fauxbel, his sister, Patricia Regis, his brother, Robert Renaud, a niece, and several nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Most Holy Trinity Church, Pomfret, CT. Burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson, CT. Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, are in charge of the arrangements. A Celebration of Life will follow at Grill 37 in Pomfret, CT.
