Lisa M. Pope, 93, formerly of Chase Road, Thompson died Friday at Matulaitis. She was the wife of the late Chester H. Pope, he died in 1996 and Francis Bates he died in 1950. She was born July 10, 1914 in Thompson, daughter of the late Bartholomew and Mary Lippiello. She made her home in Thompson all her life, a member of the Thompson Congregational Church and a member of the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed word games and puzzles. She leaves her grandchildren: Shawn Bates and his wife Jennifer of Putnam; Kyle Bates of Manchester, NH; Stacy Bates-Trombley and her husband Tyler of Springfield, VT; Lisa Bates of Woodstock, great grandchildren: Kristopher; Kobie; Karson; Nevaeh; Crystal Rossetti; her daughter-in-law: Elaine Bates of Putnam; her sisters: Matilda Deotte; Lydia Cutter both of N. Grosvenordale; her brothers: Connie Lippiello and his wife Ruth of N. Grosvenordale; Victor Lippiello of Putnam; several nieces and nephews, She was predeceased by her son: Louis F. Bates. Funeral Service will be Monday at 1:30PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, Calling Hours will be Monday from 11:30 AM until time of service. Burial will be in West Thompson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Thompson Congregational Church, PO Box 308, Thompson, CT 06277.
