Obituary of Rita V. Pezanko

Rita V. Pezanko, 87 of School Street, Putnam, CT, died peacefully Saturday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family. Wife of Lawrence J. Pezanko, he died in 1974. Born in January 20, 1921 in Moosup, CT, daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha LaRiviere. She was employed for twenty three years at the American Optical, working in Putnam and the last three years in Southbridge, retiring in 1983. Rita made her home in Putnam most of her life, an active Communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, American Legion ladies auxiliary and served as secretary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and traveled with the Putnam Travelers for many years. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Pezanko; She leaves two daughters: Joyce Weisenberger of Norwich, CT, Gail Houghton and her husband Michael of Putnam, two sons: Larry Pezanko and his wife Sally of Southport, CT, Peter Pezanko and his wife Mary Ann of Putnam; sisters: Mary Plante of Putnam, Alice Deloge of Putnam, Theresa Tatro of Wauregan; brother: Eugene Lariviere of Putnam, grandchildren: Susan; Scott; Shawn; Heather; Dana; Kera; Sara; Tim; Luke; great grandchildren: TJ; Tyler; Ellie; Carter; Logan; Trevor; Shaun; Alyssa. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at ST Mary Church Of The Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial will be in St Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
