Obituary of Carol H. Melanson

Carol (Haug) Melanson, 88, of Plainfield, CT passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Colonial Nursing and Rehab in Plainfield, CT. Carol was born and raised in Louisiana, where she met her husband, Robert. They married on February 8, 1953 and shared 64 years together living in Plainfield, Florida and Danielson, CT area until Robert’s passing in 2017.

Together they raised six children, David, Donna (Michael Zito), Roberta, Carolyn (Homer Jennings), George (Loretta) and Paula (Jeffrey Goyette).

Carol worked as an accountant throughout her life until her retirement.

She leaves her six children, ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren in passing. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and a granddaughter Jamie Lynn.

The family thanks the Colonial staff for their compassionate care for Carol.

A Calling Hour will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson, CT.
