Obituary of Henry David Guertin

Henry David "Pat" Guertin, 79 of Putnam, died February 4, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of 46 years to Mary Jane (Laroche) Guertin. Beloved father of Theresa Wilson and husband Jon of Danielson; Henry Guertin II, Claudette Hill and husband Kevin O'Brien of Plainfield; four special grandchildren Amanda, Patrick, Tessa, William, and Shannon, Nicholas, Jasmine, brothers Joseph Guertin and wife Ruth of FL; Walter Spraske and wife Rita of Danielson; many nieces and nephews and his loyal companions Buddy, Max and Lucky. He was predeceased by a brother Nelson Guertin. He was born April 7, 1928 in Putnam, son of the late Arthur and Rose (Chattelle) Guertin. A veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Army in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1952. He was known as Pat to his family and friends, he had a great love for life, his pastime was working in his gardens and cooking. He always spoiled his family with gourmet meals. Pat was employed for ten years at Linemaster in Woodstock, and for 45 years at the American Optical in Putnam and Southbridge, MA. He had a great love and devotion to his late mother Rose Guertin who he took care of for many years. He will be greatly missed. A special thank you to Shawn Mathewson, RN at the CT VNA.
