Obituary of Robert Shippee, Sr.

Born in Putnam, CT, November 21, 1944, Robert Shippee, Sr., 78, of Quinebaug, CT, passed away peacefully after a long illness on November 16, 2023 surrounded and comforted by his devoted and loving family.  Bob served in the U.S. military from 1963 to 1969 in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Boxer.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Margaret and son-in-law, Paul Goulette, Jr.; son, Robert Shippee, Jr.; grandchildren, Zachary Goulette, Brittany and her husband, Jacob Hallene; Justin Shippee; Brandon Shippee; and great-grandson Everett Hallene; and brother and friend, Walter and sister-in-law, Nancy Taylor.  Bob was predeceased by his wife, Judy, on July 6, 2022 and great-granddaughter, Arya Hallene, on July 23, 2022. 

Dad was a remarkable person.  He went through so much and dealt with it heroically.  Dad will be remembered for his family values, positive attitude, and strength. He was an exceptional father and highly devoted husband. He showed great devotion in caring for our mom.  Aside from spending time with family, Dad's other love was fishing in his Nitro and chasing the largemouth bass.

Dad will be missed beyond measure.  He is at peace now and reunited with the love of his life, our mom and his great-granddaughter, Arya. A special thanks to dad's hospice nurse, Candice, and Day Kimball Hospice for the warmth and compassion to dad.  

A private ceremony for both dad and mom will be held at a later date.
