Obituary of Victor J. Gregoire
Victor J. Gregoire, 71, of Dayville, CT passed away, after a long illness on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. He was born on December 22, 1951 in Ware, MA, son of the late Armand and Jeanette (Roy) Gregoire. Victor was the beloved husband of Claire (Mathieu) Gregoire.
Victor attended the La Salette Seminary in High School and graduated from Quaboag High School. He then attended UMass for his undergraduate Degree and received his Masters from Anna Marie College. Victor worked as a counselor of drugs and alcohol for several years working for Bridgewater Hospital, Community Healthlink and his final job at Worcester County House of Corrections in Massachusetts. He also worked as the Director of the DUI program in Rutland Height’s Hospital for many years prior. Victor was a skilled actor and proudly served as a member of the Actor’s Equity Association for several years. He was a part of the Bradley Play House, The Boston Huntington Theater and the Hartford Stage. He also was an extra in several movies. Victor was a passionate WWII Historian and enjoyed war games using miniature solders and models he constructed.
He leaves his wife Claire Gregoire of Dayville, CT; his sisters Jeanne Rymarsky of Brimfield, MA and Rachel Majka of Attleboro, MA. Also several nieces and nephews. Victor will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years and his family and friends. In lieu of flowers Donation in his memory can be made to NECCOG Animal Shelter, 125 Putnam Pike, Dayville, CT 06241
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of La Salette Church, 25 Providence Road, Brooklyn, CT, burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville, CT. There will be a reception at the church following the Cemetery.
