Very sad to hear of Gordon’s passing- he helped me early in my career and I thought very highly of him. He was truly a gentleman and a good representative of the Department. I will keep him in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Gordon’s death. Gordy worked with my husband at UCONN PD. Mike would always tell me Smitty had a notebook of the best places to eat!! He was always such a gentleman.
I have sad tears.

Gordon and I worked together for several years at UConn PD prior to his retirement. I learned a lot from him about how the job should be done. After my retirement from the PD many retirees of the PD were fortunate to get together over the years for lunch, and Gordon was almost always there, adding to what was always a good get together. A true gentleman.

Dad,
These last few weeks were incredibly difficult to bear knowing this was your time to go home. I prayed every day for your suffering to end and that you would be with loved ones once again. I would not have traded sitting by your side all these weeks for anything. I am so thankful I was able to spend that time with you and other loved ones who came to visit with you, reminiscing about all the good times you shared with them.
I love you dearly and will miss your stories and conversations as well as being able to write to you to share how my life is going. I look forward to re-reading all the letters you saved and I thank you for the comfort you have afforded me with laughter from the memories.
I love you and will be missing you until we meet again.
Your loving daughter,
Cindy

Cindy,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist your father. I truly enjoyed the time I spent with him. Gordon was such a kind, compassionate and giving man. He always greeted us with a hug and a smile. I enjoyed listening to his stories about growing up, his military service and his police service. He was definitely brought up with a service to others mentality. He was a true gentleman and he will always hold a special place in my heart. I am certain he was greeted at the gates of heaven with a firm handshake.
"Well done my good a faithful servant ..."
