Obituary of Mildred Grace Lawrence

Mildred Grace Lawrence, 81, of Wrights Crossing Road, Pomfret Center, died Wednesday at Westview Health Care in Dayville. She was the wife of the late Edric T. Lawrence, he died in 1992. Born December 18, 1926, in Sturbridge, MA, daughter of the late Gabriel and Carolina (Hendrickson) Carlson. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade School in Worcester as a seamstress. She lived in Pomfret for over forty years. Mildred was a gifted seamstress working for Alice Eleanor in Danielson and was a well known seamstress in the area. She also worked as a waitress at Berris Motor Inn in Brooklyn for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Pomfret Senior Citizen's Club. She leaves her five daughters: Lesa Landry of Pomfret Center; Linda Lawrence of Danielson; Louanne Beauregard of Pomfret Center; Lois Rosen of Pomfret Center; Leslie Minarik of Thompson; her sister: Elin Anderson of Dudley, MA, nine grandchildren: Heather; Michelle; James; Scott; Jason; Kevin; Douglas; Jennifer; Mialesa and eleven great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, Calling Hours will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial in South Cemetery in Pomfret. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Center for Healthy Aging, 15 Marshall Street, Putnam, CT 06260.
