Obituary of Timothy J. Stocks

Timothy J. Stocks, 72, of North Road in East Killingly, CT passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5th from a stroke. He left peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Umass Medical Center.

Tim was born on April 12th 1948 in Putnam, CT. He was the son of Edward Stocks and Agnes Woznicki Stocks. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Patricia Day and his brother Edward Stocks Jr. Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Margaret Stocks, his daughter Tina Aubin and her husband Norm Aubin, his youngest daughter Karen Stocks and her two sons Matthew and Timothy Brunnett.

After a safe and honorable return home from his proud service in the Vietnam war, he spent most of his working years as a rigger at Electric Boat in Groton, CT. Tim was blessed with ten plus years in retirement. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures; sharing and celebrating good times with family and friends, living each day doing exactly what he wanted to do. If you didn’t find Timmy in the barn relaxing with his dogs, he could have been found outside hunting and fishing with friends, getting ready for winter in the woodpile or hard at work maintaining his property. Never one to take short cuts, Tim would not start something that he could not finish with 100% attention to detail and always working smarter, not harder. A few good words to describe Tim would include: hard working, good provider, loyal, generous, clever, a good neighbor, and a firm believer in common sense.

Funeral arrangements are private and at a later date the family will have a celebration of his life, per Tim’s wishes.
