William L. Peabody, Sr., (AKA “Bill, Pops") 65, of Putnam, died unexpectedly on October 28, 2019.  Leaving behind two adult children, Jennifer Peabody, William Peabody, Jr., and his only grandson Payton Livingston.

He was the son of the late Albert A. Peabody who died November 3, 1993 and Margaret (Wilcox) Peabody who died June 2, 2007.

Bill was a proud father, grandfather, devoted loving brother, son, uncle and a loyal friend to many. He was truly one-of-a-kind and a gift to all those lucky enough to have known him.

Past down from generation to generation starting with his grandfather, Bill was a master stone mason.  His stone work can be seen from Maine to Rhode Island to New York and locally. He was also a wonderful and talented vocalist/musician and song writer.  His voice singing the Blues was well-known through out New England. His pride and joy, The Blue Steele Band even took him as far as Memphis.  He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved the outdoors.

He leaves four siblings:  Margo Peabody of Preston, CT, Leslie Peabody of Moosup, CT, Ed Peabody of Eastford, CT and Ned Peabody of Woodstock, CT.

Bill's final wishes were to be cremated and wishes everyone to remember the good times.
