Obituary of Dennis J. Pearce

Dennis J. Pearce, of Myrtle Ave., Springville, died Wednesday October 23, 2019 in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo at the age of 71.

He was born November 6, 1947 in Buffalo, New York a son of the late Albert and Ruth (nee Whelan) Pearce. He was a 1966 graduate of Springville Griffith Institute. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran serving from July 27, 1967 through February 28, 1969. He was an Engineer with International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 545, Buffalo. He was a member of the Springville American Legion Post #431 and the Springville Senior Citizens.

He loved playing euchre with the McDonalds' gang, golf, hunting, classic cars, motorcycle riding, watching the Bills games and campfires. He and his wife traveled in their 5th wheeler for the past 10 years across the United States. He enjoyed life, always had a smile and loved his grandchildren tremendously.

He is survived by his wife - Barbara A. (nee Fox) Pearce whom he married May 17, 1969 in St. Aloysius Church, Springville; daughters - Tracy (Ali) Gokce of Maryland and Holly Pearce of Springville; sister - Beth Boltz of Otto. He was the devoted Poppy of Keenan, Natalie & Ronelle Tadt, Kayra Gokce and Axel; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call Sunday October 27, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville. Funeral services will be held Monday October 28, 2019 at 11 am in St. Aloysius Church, 190 Franklin St., Springville.
