Obituary of John F. Benware

Thompson - John F. Benware, age 60, died Friday morning July 27, 2007 at home in Thompson. John was born in Messing, NY on August 25, 1946, son of the late May belle (Adele) Berry, whom he lived with until the age of five, when he enter the Mansfield Training School, his home until he was forty, when he went to live with Sandra Bastarche and her family in Coventry. They were devoted to John. Sandra died in 2001 and John went to live and make his home at the Dubois Community Training Home in Thompson, where he had many happy years. John enjoyed life and attending the Tri County-Arc-Entree Program, where he made many friends, especially the ladies. He attended the Tri State Baptist Church in Quinebaug. John leaves Lucy Lavelle and her family; Joe Bastarche and his family; Robert and Joann Dubois with whom he made his home; much extended family as well as friends and Church family and his friends at the Entree Program. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling Hours Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
