Obituary of Irving A. Gibson

Irving "Gibby" Gibson, 71, of Warren, Michigan and formerly of Putnam, died April 28, 2007. Husband of the late Rachel (Lajoie) Gibson, she died December 15, 2002. He was born February 22, 1936 in Bridgeport, son of Roscoe and Viola (LaVallee) Gibson, Sr. He entered the US Airforce February 28,1955 and was Honorably Discharged December 5, 1958. He worked at B & W Footwear in Webster and Lidgett Spring in Oxford, MA. Irving was a 1954 graduate of Tourtellotte Memorial High School in Thompson. His hobbies included Gardening, Bowling, Dart Ball, Shooting Pool, Fishing, Playing Cards, and going to and having yard Sales and Flea Markets. He enjoyed the family picnics. He made his home in Putnam most of his life, moving to Warren in 2003. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson Jake Gibson. He leaves a daughter: Brenda Lee Gibson of Webster; three sons: Richard Gibson of North Grosvenordale; Norman Gibson of Johnston, RI; Alan Gibson of Danielson; his companion for the last four years: Joan Trombley; a sister: Priscilla Perkinson of Brooklyn, two brothers: Roscoe K. Gibson, Jr. of Killingly; Ronald Gibson of Webster, a grandson: Jake Gibson; several step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, predeceased by a brother Ralph. A Graveside Service will be June 2, 2007 (Saturday) at 11:00 AM in Munyan Cemetery, East Putnam & Munyan Roads, Putnam with Military Honors. Arrangements by Smith & Walker Funeral, Putnam, CT.
