Obituary of Elizabeth Hebert

Elizabeth Hebert, 76, of Killingly Avenue, Putnam, died peacefully Wednesday morning at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Robert J. Hebert. They were married April 23, 1955. She was born September 3, 1930 in Ireland, daughter of the late James and Mary Ann (Connelly) Croarkin. She immigrated to the United States in 1949. She had made her home in Putnam for the last 42 years. She was very proud to become a United States Citizen in 1969. Elizabeth was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She had worked at the former American Optical in Putnam and Southbridge. She leaves her husband Robert of 52 years; two daughters. Deborah Levesque and her husband Donald of Pascoag, RI, Kathryn Doyle and her husband James of Putnam; her siblings, James Croarkin of Pawtucket, RI, John Croarkin of England, Margaret Mcentee and Katherine Mahon both of Ireland; grandchildren, Stacy Genna, Michelle Jennings, Joshua Levesque, Aaron Wassarman, Sasha Wassarman, Christopher Wassarman and Shannon Doyle. A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Congregational Church of Putnam, 175 Main Street, Putnam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Northeast Connecticut Relay for Life, c/o American Cancer Society, 238 W. Town Street, Norwich, CT 06360.
