Obituary of Francis "Pete" Walters

Francis Pete Walters, age 86, of Danielson, died Tuesday in Putnam. He was the husband of Beatrice (Murray) Walters, they were married in 1943. He was born May 29, 1920, in Putnam, son of Joseph and Clara (Vivier) Walters. He was a machinist working for Henry Townsend in New Haven. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army, awarded Five Bronze Stars, a life member of the Wauregan VFW Post 6875 and the Danielson Elks #1776. Pete was a life member of the Williamsville Fire Dept., serving as a fireman, treasurer and tax collector for many years. He leaves his wife Beatrice, two sisters: Vivian Potts of Lisbon; Gertrude Panasuk of Plainfield, predeceased by sons, Francis Walters, Jr. in 1970; George Joseph Walters in 1994. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday November 28th in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Firemans Memorial Fund, Williamsville Fire Department, Box 266, Rogers, CT 06263.
