Obituary of Dorothy E. Hansen

Dorothy E. Hansen, 91, of East Woodstock, CT died Monday morning at the Village Manor in Plainfield, CT. She was the wife of the late Einar Hansen, he died in 1998. She was born October 8, 1914, in Woodstock, CT, daughter of the late Charles & Ruby (Smith) Cox. She had made her home in East Woodstock for over seventy years, moving from Southbridge, MA. Dorothy was an active member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church where she was active for many years with the Village Circle and the Ladies Benevolent Society. She taught kindergarten in the Woodstock school system, and later worked with her son and husband in the operation of Brunarhans Designs in East Woodstock. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family. She leaves her children: Bruce Hansen and his wife Carlene of Dayville; Mark Hansen and his wife Carmela of Harwinton; Pamela Campbell of Savannah, GA; a daughter-in-law: Janet Hansen; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by a son, Robert Hansen in 1991. A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 11:00 AM in the East Woodstock Congregational Church, Woodstock Road, East Woodstock.. Burial in Elmvale Cemetery, Woodstock. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the East Woodstock Congregational Church, P.O. Box 156, East Woodstock, CT 06244.
