Obituary of Alice M. LaPalme

Alice M. LaPalme, 79, of Providence Pike, Putnam, formerly of West Thompson, died Monday at the Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, after an off and on battle with Diabetes. She was the wife of the late Louis Red Bertrand LaPalme, he died in 1989. She was born March 8, 1927 in Putnam, daughter of the late Honore and Rosealba (Phalus) St. Germain. She had made her home in Putnam for 20 years. She was a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation. She worked as a Trimmer for American Optical for 50 years, and Arrow Manufacturing for 5 years, both in Southbridge, retiring in 1998. Alice was known for her organized yard sales. She enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens with her sister. Alice had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves two sons; Louis LaPalme of South Killingly, David LaPalme of Eastford, two daughters; Lori Ann Ayaz of Boynton Beach, FL, Sara Jane LaPalme of Danielson, seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister; Jeanette Barylski, a brother; Aldor St. Germain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 15, at 10:30 am at the ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam. Calling Hours will be Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam.
