Poliksena Lazarou, 85, of Putnam, CT, died Tuesday in the Overlook Masonic Health Care in Charlton, MA. She was the wife of Ernest Lazarou, he died in 1982. She was born in Albania on May 12, 1920, daughter of the late Rafail and Nunka (Cipa) Nasto. She made her home in Putnam since 1948, living on Walnut Street and later at the Ella Grasso Apartments. She was a member of ST Michaels Romanian Orthodox Church, Southbridge, a member of the churchs Ladies Society and a former member of the Putnam Grange. She was employed at American Optical, Southbridge and the former Putnam Hertzel. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She leaves a brother: George Nasto and his wife Alexandria, of Sturbridge. Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at ST Michaels Romanian Orthodox Church, 16 Romanian Avenue, Southbridge with the Funeral Liturgy Friday at 10:30 am at ST Michaels Romanian Orthodox Church. Burial in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Poliksenas memory to the Memorial Fund of ST Michaels Romanian Orthodox Church, 16 Romanian Avenue, Southbridge, MA 01550.
