Obituary of Louise R. Zmitrukiewicz

Louise R. Zmitrukiewicz, age 85, formerly of North Grosvenordale, CT and most recently of Matulaitis Nursing Home, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, December 11, surrounded by her family in Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, CT. She was born December 22, 1919 in Medway, MA, daughter of the late Antonio and Giovannina (Murolo) Ierardi. Her husband Joseph A. Zmitrukiewicz died August 6, 2003. They were married February 18, 1950. Louise was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, and a graduate of Tourtellotte Memorial High School. She worked for many years as a caregiver at Thornfield Hall in Thompson, and Matulaitis Nursing Home. Most recently she was actively involved in her daughter Junes day care business. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She leaves a son, John A. Zmitrukiewicz; two daughters, Anne M. Batchelor and her husband Marshall; June P. Pidgeon and her husband Randy of Woodstock, CT; a sister-in-law Eleanor Stewart of Scarborough, ME; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several dear friends. She was predeceased by four brothers. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, December 15 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main Street, North Grosvenordale, CT. Burial will be at a later date in West Thompson Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of ones choice.
