Obituary of Thomas E. Mooney, Jr.

Thomas E. Mooney, Jr., 70, of Fall Brook Park, Danielson, formerly of Woodstock, died Thursday afternoon at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Paquin) Mooney. He was born November 26, 1934 in Jamaica Long Island, NY, son of Thomas E. and Emma (Mese) Mooney. He was a machine operator working at the Rogers Corporation in Rogers for 23 years, he retired in 1999. He made his home in Woodstock for over thirty two years, and recently moved to Killingly. He was veteran of the Korean War serving with the U S Marine Corps. He was a 1953 graduate of the Putnam High School. Thomas was an avid golfer and was a member of the Harrisville golf course.He was a loving, caring and devoted Husband, father, grandfather and brother. He leaves in addition to his wife, three daughters : Christina Comire of Woodstock; Shannon Blackmer and her husband Craig of Pomfret; Tracy Falcon and her husband Jason of Sutton, MA; and adoring Papa to 5 grandchildren: Brian Comire , Steven and Hunter Blackmer; Ryan Falcon, Cheyanne Mooney and was awaiting the birth of a 6th grandchild. His siblings: George Mooney, Sr. of N. Grosvenordale; Robert Mooney and his wife Cil of Putnam; Lillian Rondeau and her husband Joe of Putnam; Kathleen Snow and her husband Walter of Woodstock; several nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be Saturday June 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home; 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial will be private in ST Mary Cemetery.
