Obituary of Adver E. Hopkins

Adver E. Hopkins, 81, of Woodstock, CT, died on December 1, 2009 after a short illness. Adver was born in Woodstock, CT, son of the late Florence M. and Joseph E. Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was a Woodstock farmer all of his life and operated the family owned farm with his siblings until the sale of the farm in the mid 1990's. During that time he also drove a milk truck picking up milk from various farmers and delivering it to Hartford for processing. After he left the farm he kept his haying equipment, and each summer he would cut hay and bale it for several local farmers. Adver is survived by a sister Bertha Benoit and her husband Albert and a brother Clarence Hopkins and his wife Helen. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Adver was predeceased by four brothers, Elmer, Ernest, Raymond, Joseph, and four sisters Mildred, Marion, Florence, and Edna. Funeral service will be Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial in Center Cemetery, Woodstock.
