Ethel B. Baker Ethel B. Baker March 9, 1929 - April 6, 2009 KILLINGLY - Ethel B. Baker, 80, died on Monday at Haven Health Center in Danielson. Born in Putnam, CT on March 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Etta (Weeks) Baker. She attended the Pomfret schools. Upon completion of her education, she moved to the Hartford area and worked in the laundry cleaning business, working in several laundry facilities. In 1967, she returned to the Killingly area and worked at Westview Convalescent Center in the laundry for seventeen years retiring in 1985. Miss Baker enjoyed playing cards and doing needlepoint. She was a former member of the Killingly Grange and had belonged to the Royal Travellers. She leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, William, Ernest and Herbert Baker Sr.; and three sisters, Bessie Jacques Monty, Aris Latendresse and Louise Goss. A Graveside Service will be at South Cemetery, Brooklyn on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 106 Route 32, Franklin, CT 06254. Gagnon-Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St, Danielson is in charge of arrangements.
