Obituary of Ruth E. Lamoureux

Ballouville - At 10 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023, Ruth Lamoureux, passed away peacefully after a brief illness. She was born July 12, 1934 in Hartford, CT. She was raised in Putnam and was a Putnam High School graduate of 1953, later spending most of her life in Ballouville. Ruth will be most remembered for her robust energy and her warmth towards others. It has been remarked that Ruth never met a stranger. Ruth now moves on to rejoin her husband, Raymond “Pete” Lamoureux as well as her children, Dickie, Michael, Sonny and Karen. She is survived by her daughter Ann Leclerc and her husband Richard of Dunedin, Florida, her daughter, Kathy Combs and her husband, Ron of Killingly, CT, her son, Peter Lamoureux of Putnam, CT, step children, Denise Provost, David Lamoureux and Patti Newsham. 

Having been the matriarch of a large family Ruth has many grandchildren now living in CT, RI, MA, OH and IN. The Indiana clan boasts to having Ruth’s great, great grandchildren. We could go on to list out all of the people who have meant so much to Ruth whether it be her friends at Maple Court, the Senior Center in Plainfield, church or any of the seemingly endless number of places that Ruth would make a new friend, but there’s only so much ink. Having come from very humble means, Ruth never felt entitled to anything never complained, and maintained an indomitable spirit of positivity. She would not want anyone to waste a moment feeling sorry for her, and would demand that we go about enjoying the time we have in this world. We will carry Ruth with us as we do so.

A Calling Hour will be Friday, June 30, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Service to follow at 11:00 AM and burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville, CT.
