Obituary of Florence E. Saucier

Florence E. Saucier, 90, passed away at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam on July 23, 2010. Florence was born March 8, 1920 in Border, MN to the late Albert and Elizabeth (O’Neill) Paul. She married Herve O. Saucier October 26, 1940. He died December 13, 1995. Florence lived in Putnam for over sixty years. Prior to moving to Matulaitis she also resided at Maple Courts in Danielson. She worked for a number of years at the American Greetings in Webster, MA and retired from Danco in Putnam in 1983. She leaves her daughter Jackie and son-in-law Ronald Landry of Dayville, CT; son Richard Saucier and fiancée Donna Yarger of Sun City Center, FL; son J. P. and daughter-in-law Paula Saucier of Dayville, CT;   daughter-in-law Betsy Saucier of Vernon, CT; and a sister, Eileen Domski of PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son David Saucier in 2002; also sisters Mary, Rosalie and Sarah. She also leaves behind her Matulaitis family, the nurses, aides and staff who were a big part of her life for over six years. The funeral will be Tuesday July 27, 2010 at 10:30 AM from the Smith and Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam with a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St Mary Church of the Visitation 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial in St Mary Cemetery. A Calling Hour Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Matulaitis Nursing Home, 10 Thurber Road, Putnam, CT 06260. Smith and Walker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
