Obituary of Paul J. Cartier

Paul J. Cartier, 71, of Charlton Avenue, Dayville, CT, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 13, 2010 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Hildreth) Cartier. He was born April 24, 1938 in Putnam, son of the late George E. and Cecile (Rondeau) Cartier. Paul worked as a printer at the former Putnam Patriot Newspaper and then the Patriot Observer. He was later employed at the Dempsey Center in Putnam working in maintenance for over seventeen years. He served for several years in the Connecticut Army National Guard. Paul has made his home in Dayville for the last nine years moving to there from Pomfret. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He also took pleasure in woodworking. His greatest joy was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves his wife of fifty years Mary, his children Monique Mooney and her husband Michael of Voluntown, CT; Paul J. Cartier, II and his wife Shannon of Storrs, CT; his grandchildren Jerry, Evan, Jillian, Reid, and Brynn. Funeral Services will be Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
