Leon Van Flatern, 92 of Wilsonville Road, North Grosvenordale, CT, died Wednesday March 10, 2010 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Plainfield, CT. He was the husband of the late Eva (Bazinet) Van Flatern; she died June 10, 1999. He was born October 18, 1917 in Putnam, son of the late Alphonsus and Mary (Bousquet) Van Flatern. He was a veteran of WWII Serving with the U S Army. He had worked for many years of Stevens Linens and Anglo Fabrics in Webster, as a Weaver and Supervisor. He had made his home in North Grosvenordale for over 45 years. Leon enjoyed working outside in his yard. He leaves his son- Leonard A. Van Flatern and his wife June of Brooklyn; a daughter Carol A. Dauphinais and her husband Leonell of Canterbury; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A graveside service will be Saturday March 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM in West Thompson Cemetery, Route 12, Thompson, CT. Donations may be made in His memory to Hospice of NECT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
