Norman Ulric LaLiberte, 94 of Woodstock, CT, died Friday at the Orchard Valley Assisted Living in Wilbraham, MA. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Davis) LaLiberte, they were married in 1946, she died June 8, 1996. He was born December 21, 1915 in Spencer, MA, son of the late Albert and Lizzie (Pion) LaLiberte. Norman was a Chemist working at the American Optical Company for over 35 years, retiring in 1980. He had made his home Woodstock for over 53 years. He was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church in Pomfret. He enjoyed his breakfasts at the Vanilla Bean, and his beloved pet Abby. He leaves his daughters: Judy Billings and her husband Donald of Tolland, CT; Janet Nolen and her husband Jim of Ware, MA; Joanne LaLiberte of Webster, MA; his grandchildren: Randy Billings and his wife Rebecca; Bryon Billings and his wife Sarah; Patrick Nolen; Michael Nolen and his wife Michelle; Andrew Nolen; Robert Nolen; Timothy Nolen; Christopher Nolen; a great grandson: William James Nolen. Calling hour will be Monday, February 22, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, CT. Burial in the Spring in Elmvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Woodstock Area Garden Club, PO Box 323, Woodstock, CT 06281.
