Obituary of Kenneth W. Marvin

Kenneth W. Marvin, 97, of East Woodstock, CT died on Nov. 21, 2025.

He was born on December 17, 1927 at home in Mapleville, R.I., son of Wade G. and Irene (Baldwin) Marvin. A lifelong resident of East Woodstock, since 1930. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces and nephews, great grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters Arline M. Bowen and Barbara M. Brown, niece Sharon B. Neely and nephew George W. Brown. 

He graduated from Woodstock Academy in 1945. Enlisted in the Navy, serving on the USS Nitro AE-2, was a Veteran of WW II, then graduated from Putnam Technical School in 1950.

He was employed at Simonds Machine Co. and Linemaster Switch Corp. and was a member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church, Benson-Flugel Post No. 111, American Legion, Muddy Brook Fire Dept., Masons, O.E.S., O of A, and USS Nitro (AE-2/AE23) Association. 

A memorial service will be held at the East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Road, East Woodstock, CT at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 29th 2025. A private burial service will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the MAY MEMORIAL LIBRARY, P.O, Box 14, East Woodstock, CT 06244.
