Obituary of Mary Anne Barton

Mary Anne (Chamberlain) Barton, 79, of Dayville, died Monday, March 17, 2025 at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Plainfield. She was the beloved wife of David L. Barton, they were married for 43 years. Daughter of the late Burton and Mary (Hansel) Chamberlain, she was born in New York, New York on July 21, 1945.

She worked as a real estate agent for 22 years. Mary Anne was a member of the Killingly Republican Town Committee. She loved art especially painting, enjoyed camping and traveling. She enjoyed her trips to Mystic and being near the ocean. She was a very fashionable woman. Mary Anne most of all loved being a mother and had a passion for it. She loved her Bichon Poo “Lilly”.

She leaves her husband David L. Barton of Killingly, children David Barton, II and his wife Mindy of Plainfield, Nathan Karpf and his wife Tammy of Rockford, IL, Kate Karpf of Seattle, WA, brother Bill Chamberlain of Port St. Lucie, FL, and several grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son John Karpf and brother Burt Chamberlain.

Calling hours will be Friday, March 28, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Funeral will be Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at High Pointe Church, 1208 Thompson Road, Thompson, CT, with a calling hour 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Church, burial will follow in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam, CT.
