Obituary of Heath Steven Babineau

Heath Steven Babineau, 21, of Green Acres Lane, Quinebaug, died Thursday evening in Thompson as the result of a automobile accident. Beloved son of Dianne and David Barrett of Quinebaug and Steven Babineau of Charlton, MA. He was born March 6, 1984 in Southbridge, MA and lived in Quinebaug most of his life. He was a graduate of Tourtelotte Memorial High School and a member of the football and golf teams. Heath was respected by his teachers and peers throughout his years at Tourtelotte. He was a loving and caring son, brother and grandson and had a great sense of humor. In his youth he played Little League Baseball and was an Allstar. He enjoyed target shooting and fishing. Heath was a member of the HighPointe Church in Thompson and was involved in the 24/7 Youth Ministry at the church. He was employed as a cook at Lido Restaurant in Quinebaug for 4 years and cooked at the Pub 99 Restaurant in Auburn, MA. He leaves in addition to his parents, his sisters: Heather Barrett of Quinebaug; Lori Barrett of Woodstock, Ashley of Charlton, MA, brother: Michael Babineau of Charlton, maternal grandparents: Jane and Ray Austin, paternal grandparents: Marge and Norman Babineau of Ocala, FL, maternal great grandmother Marjorie Wheeler of Thompson, his girlfriend, Kari Poirier of Thompson, several aunts uncles and cousins. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the HighPointe Church, 1208 Thompson Road, Thompson. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial in North Woodstock Cemetery, North Woodstock.
