Obituary of Joseph John Pellecchia

Joseph John Pellecchia, 92, of Melbourne, FL, formerly of Danielson, CT, died Friday, April 8, 2016 in Roan Mountain, TN. Joseph was the husband of the late Martha (Luty) Pellecchia, she died in 2007. He was born December 19, 1923 in Plainville, CT, son of Pasquali and Ginina (Ferraro) Pellecchia. Joseph was a communicant of St. James Church, Danielson. He owned and operated DSM Mechanical in Danielson for over 40 years, retiring in 2006. He was a graduate of the Wilcox Technical School in Meriden, CT, as a sheet metal Tech. Joseph was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy on the USS Corbesier, he received an honorable discharge November 15, 1945. He had made his home on Geer Road in Danielson most of his life, where he and wife operated a Dairy Farm that they enjoyed for many years. He liked fishing and spending time boating. His greatest love was spending time with his large family. In 2011 he relocated to Melbourne, Florida. He leaves his children, Joseph Pellecchia, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Trumbull, CT; Nancy Maciag and her husband Peter of Rockledge, FL; Rosanne Bessenaire and her husband Raymond of Melbourne, FL; Audrey Giambattista and her husband Alan of Killingly, CT; Thomas Pellecchia of Rockledge, FL; Martha Hickernell and her husband Dusty of Fleetwood, NC, grandchildren: Joseph, III; Jonathan; Jennifer; Eric; Sarah; Brian; Kimberly; Aaron; Alicia; Amy; Andrew; Anthony; Andrea; Alexis; Jody; Morgan; Brandon; Dustin and Shelby, great grandchildren: Jake; Norah; Jackson; Carter; Jacen; Cambell, Logan and Evelyan, daughter-in-law Sandy Pellecchia of Brooklyn, CT, sister Carmella Matarazzo of Southington, CT, sisters-in-law Shirley Pellecchia of Vernon, CT and Linda Valancies of Melbourne, FL. Predeceased by children, Marjorie Iloff; Anthony Pellecchia, brothers and sisters, Rafael, Angie, Emma, Anna, Florence, Nazaire, Nunzio, and Albert. The funeral will be Friday, April 15, 2016 at 9:30 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. Calling Hours Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson.
