Obituary of James P. Grossbard

James P. Grossbard, 83, of Dayville passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was born on July 24, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Bernard and Lillian (Twigg) Grossbard. On November 8, 1986 he married Mary Lou (Blesso) Grossbard at Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield, CT. James left New York in 1980 to move to Dayville, CT, working for Acme Corporation as Director of Government and International Sales. James was a member of the Mt. Laurel Ski Club out of Hartford since 1980, a member of Long Island Ski Club in Crest Haven, he belonged to a drama club in New York and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed reading and playing tennis. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Grossbard, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and by his first wife Margaret Mary Hollan who died in 1975. The funeral will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:15 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT. Calling Hours will be Friday, March 20, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring in St. Joseph Cemetery Dayville, CT.
